Serendipity ~ a natural gift for making useful discoveries by accident
aka... "This Lady's Home Journal"
When we purchased our 105 year-old house we thought a thorough cosmetic overhaul was all it needed. We have since learned that houses built in 1900 need a little more TLC than that.
It has been our experience that most of our projects are delightful accidents, thus the arrival at naming this site. We're not restoring, but face-lifting. With a poorly-executed country theme prevalent throughout, we've begun with the largest project, the kitchen. Striving for an Olde World style, we're making progress... albeit a snails pace. It is our hope that you enjoy watching our progress as it unfolds.

I think this may become a pattern in years to come until we can say the house is done ~ we have officially taken off the months of November and December from home improvements. There are too many commitments during the holidays to be bothered worrying about the fact that the crown moulding isn't quite finished or that the ceiling in the parlor still needs to be textured. No, now is the time to lavish my family with time! Time to build treasured memories, not the remnants of an unfinished kitchen cabinet.
So, with that fond temporary farewell, I wish each and every one of you a most blessed Christmas. May you experience the love of Christ now and throughout the coming year!
