Some Fun Stuff

  • Todays Project: Decorating & touch ups
  • Difficulty Level: 1 - this is the fun stuff
  • Stress Level: Depends on the humidity
  • Time Consumed: We'll see how it goes

Today I get to do one of my favorite things....tweak!

Humidity being 80%+ these last few weeks, the newly painted livingroom has slowly and painfully been trying to dry.  Yesterday was our fantastic break from all of that...absolutely gorgeous day!  So today, I get to rummage through boxes which haven't seen the light of day for several months, pick out a few of my favorite pictures, and attack the livingroom!  I also need to get out the paintbrush again and touch up a few spots, as well as slap yet another coat on that stinkin' hutch!  Ugh!  That dumb thing.

The heat and humidity are supposed to be back today, but I've already closed up the house in hopes of keeping the cool night air lingering inside as long as possible.  If I catch it at just the right time, the house usually stays cool 'til about 5:00pm.  After that, it's tough to tell which is warmer...inside or out!

Here's to a productive day!

4 Receipts.

How do you do this? What's the trick to keeping the house cool? We've just moved into an old home in a HOT area. We have ceiling fans on the first floor. Do we need a whole house/attic fan? :-?

Hi Maria. I do not miss the humidity. I lived in Indiana for five years. I miss the place and people, but not the summers.

Hiddly ho, neighbor!:)Glad to hear you got your kitchen floor done! I bet it looks great! Can't wait to see. I still haven't decided what I want to do with mine. I think maybe hardwoods. I have to still finish ripping down the thick horrible duck wallpaper (which I think should be outlawed) in the galley part of my kitchen. I have to move out all the appliances and then I am going to ceramic tile the countertops. As for the caninets? I am going to try whitewashing them and changing the hardware. I am dying to do this, but I haven't got the ambition or the volunteers to help me do it as of yet. I am hoping someone will step up to the plate soon. I started the other half of the kitchen two years ago, but had to break for ice damage from the winter which cause THOUSANDS of dollars of damage. That made me so tired I didn't want to do anything after that. I am tired alot because of my Fibromyalgia and my DH is never motivated when I am, so needless to say it hasn't gotten done. :-( Hope fully soon though. Brooks Park is right behind Agway, by the way. It's funny though, we (DH and I)grew up in North Syracuse, and we lived 2 blocks away for 8 years before we met. We got our first apartment together in Liverpool and lived there for 7 years before we bought this house. We have never been to Paper Mill Island for the concerts either. Hub and I pretty much keep to ourselves and going to something like that would probably be traumatic for me, lol. We have lived here for 4 years and we are just this summer starting to talk to our neighbors, haha. Thanks so much for the photography compliments. If you haven't already, take a visit over to my web site. (http://www.geocities.com/nativenyer76) I think there are still a bunch there that I haven't taken down yet.
Let's see...oh yeah, I am so disappointed about not being able to get to the gym much this summer. It really makes such a difference in my wellness and I can't wait to get back into it. Quitting smoking, great summer bbq

(oops for me too) food and not getting to the gym is taking it's toll on my figure, so I can't wait to get back to going everyday! Oh that is so strange about the birthdays. That same brother of mine, his wife and daughter have the same birthday too. We have such weird birthdays in our family. Well, my back is telling me it's time to get off the computer! I will be back again because I can't wait to see what you will do next. It's almost like a soap opera! Take care and stay cool!
